Open Call for "The Armenia Turkey Cinema Platform"

The Armenia Turkey Cinema Platform, in its 7th year, invites short film and documentary makers from both countries and their respective Diasporas to apply to the 15th Project Development Workshop. The workshop will be held in Istanbul on 13-15 April 2015 as a parallel event to 34th Istanbul International Film Festival.

 

The workshop will consist of trainings, presentations, one-to-one meetings and project pitchings. 10 pre-selected short film and documentary projects for the Istanbul workshop will be evaluated by an international jury.

 

The winner will be awarded a prize of 10.000 USD with the support of European Union.

 

Filmmakers from Armenia, Turkey and their Diasporas can apply for the workshop until March 20th 2015.

 

Regulations for the Project Development Workshop

(13-15 April 2015, Cezayir Meeting Rooms)

  • Only short films and documentary projects are eligible.
  • The film proposals are to be suitable for Armenia-Turkey co-production. For co-production opportunities, check Making Films in Turkey and Armenia parts of the following website: www.cinemaplatform.org
  • Main crew of the film (director, script writer or DOP) has to be from Armenia and Turkey. The percentage of filmmakers from each country should be between 35% – 65%.
  • The shooting of the awarded projects must be completed by July 2016.
  • The workshop will be held in English. A translator will be provided in case of necessity during the presentations. But there will be no translator during the workshop.
  • Applications to the Film Support Fund will be accepted between February 10th and March 20th 2015. Applications received after this interval will not be taken into consideration.
  • The applications will be evaluated and selected by the Selection Committee consisting of Armenian and Turkish film professionals. Selected projects will be announced on April 1st 2015.

ATCP began in 2008 as a cooperation between Anadolu Kültür (Turkey) and the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival (Armenia). It is a common network for the filmmakers of both countries and their diasporas for cooperation and making films together. ATCP has supported the production of 13 films by filmmakers from Armenia and Turkey since it was established.

 

 

 

ATCP April 2015 Workshop takes place within the framework of the Support to the Armenia-Normalisation Process programme, funded by the European Union.
