A group of Turkish entrepreneurs and investors will participate in Startup Weekend Armenia on November 7-9, 2014 with the facilitation of TEPAV. Expenses of 10 of the eligible entrepreneurs will be financed via the program budget.
Within the framework of the programme 'Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalisation Process', funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium of eight civil society organisations from Armenia and Turkey which TEPAV is a member, action is taken to promote cross-border cooperation links between the entrepreneurs of the two countries.
In this context, Turkish entrepreneurs will have the chance to participate free of charge in the Startup Weekend Armenia implemented by the Public Journalism Club (PJC, Armenia) and TEPAV.
Travel and accommodation expenses of 10 entrepreneurs from Turkey will be financed via the program budget.
Applications are open for entrepreneurs who work in software, design and product development and are proficient in English enough for written and spoken communication during the event.

The event will host angel investors, academia, startup founders, mentors, senior program directors, and entrepreneurs from Turkey and Armenia.
Global Startup Weekend is a 54-hour product development marathon renowned worldwide. During the events, participants come together to share their business ideas. Qualifying entrepreneurs team up to develop a prototype over the weekend. At the end of the event a jury of technology experts selects the best team.
Startup Weekend offers entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs the change to pitch their ideas via trainings in developing business model, efficient presentation skills, design and software, and to exchange ideas with peer entrepreneurs.
Talk show with Aron Aji, Director of MFA in Literary Translation Program at the University of Iowa (USA) and the president of the American Literary Translators Association (ALTA). The talk is about literary translation, creativity of translation and its peculiarities, as well as Armenia-Turkey joint literary translation initiatives.
