Public Presentation of the Programme “Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalisation Process”

A public presentation on the Programme “Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalisation Process” will take place in Picasso Hall, Best Western Congress Hotel on 18 July 2014 at 12:00-14:00.

During the public presentation, the overall programme, its beneficiaries, achievements and upcoming activities will be presented to the civil society, local and international partner organisations, as well as to mass media representatives from Armenia and Turkey.

 

The 18-month Programme, kicked off in January 2014, is financed by the European Union and implemented by a Consortium of eight civil society organisations from Armenia and Turkey. During the public presentation, the overall programme, its beneficiaries, achievements and upcoming activities will be presented to the civil society, local and international partner organisations, as well as to mass media representatives from Armenia and Turkey.

 

The Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea (tbc) will attend the event and deliver a welcome speech, which will be followed by programme presentation. Chief Executive Officer of Eurasia Partnership Foundation Gevorg Ter-Gabrielyan, Director of Regional Studies Center Richard Giragosian, Head of Public Journalism Club Seda Muradyan, Ani Navasardyan from Civilitas Foundation from Armenia and Programme’s Communication Manager Burcu Becermen from Hrant Dink Foundation, Turkey, will talk about the various components of the Programme, the outcomes obtained in the last 6 months of implementation and provide information for public on how to get engaged in the programme activities.

 

Simultaneous interpretation from Armenian into English and back will be provided.

 

Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalisation Process is a Programme implemented by a Consortium of eight civil society organisations from both countries with the financial assistance of the European Union under the Instrument for Stability.

 

The overall objective of the Programme is to promote civil society efforts towards the normalisation of relations between Turkey and Armenia and towards an open border by enhancing people-to-people contacts, expanding economic and business links, promoting cultural and educational activities and facilitating access to balanced information in both societies.

 

The Consortium partners include Civilitas Foundation (CF), Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), Public Journalism Club (PJC), Regional Studies Center (RSC) from Armenia; and Anadolu Kültür, the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV), Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly (hCa), and Hrant Dink Foundation from Turkey.

Support to the Armenia-Turkey Normalisation Process is funded by the European Union.
